About Us

1911
Carl August Grosser immigrated from Germany and started farming and ranching in the Texas Hill Country. He raised cotton, sheep, and cattle on the ranch.

His son Harry Grosser, David’s grandfather, purchased a portion of the ranch. He raised Hereford cattle, sheep, and angora goats. He and his wife Mary Jane also had chickens and sold the eggs in San Antonio to Perry Kallison General Store. He was a rancher until his death in 1993.

David’s mother, Mary Ann Owens always had ties to the ranch and helped where she could.

2011
We were really excited to be accepted into the Family Land Heritage program sponsored by the Texas Department of Agriculture. The program honors farms and ranches that have been in continuous agricultural operation by the same family for 100 years or more. It’s rare these days for land to stay in the hands of the same family for so long and for it to remain in agriculture production.

Dancing Diamond Ranch was established by relocating to Hill County, Texas to start a new chapter in our lives, and continue to raise registered and commercial Braford cattle. We have also started producing Tifton 85 and Coastal Bermuda grass hay. Our most recent venture is our Ranch Raised Beef.

Ranching is not a simple way of life; it takes courage, imagination and strength to persevere through difficult years. But success in ranching is uniquely rewarding. We have a love for the ranching lifestyle, cattle, and Texas. Our goal is to keep the ranch in the family, and we continue to strive to improve our cattle and our land for the future.
